Overview

 POSITION SUMMARY: 

Assist the Corporate Credit Manager in supporting and training credit and finance team staff and ensure that corporate credit and finance procedures are adhered to.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Ensure that the corporate credit and finance policies and procedures are adhered to.
  2. Perform collections activities for accounts within a specified portfolio.
  3. Update credit files for existing customers and process new credit applications.
  4. Research and resolve short pay and deductions.
  5. Monitor credit and collection status of assigned customers and set appropriate credit limits.
  6. Determine release of orders based on customer credit status.
  7. Communicate effectively with salespeople regarding customer status and relationships.
  8. Analyze contracts and purchase orders for project scope, legal terms & conditions in compliance with the corporate directives.
  9. Customer service and related management skills require periodic joint sales calls with Hawthorne’s sales team.
  10. Resolve customer disputes and collection issues timely.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  1. Associates/Bachelors in Business Administration or equivalent; and/or three to ten years related commercial credit experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Strong customer focus and relationship-building skills
  3. Ability to read and evaluate financial information as it relates to credit decisions
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. A desire for quality and continuous improvement within a high-paced work environment.
  6. Technical competency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
  7. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  8. Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  9. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  10. Customer service and training skills require the ability to train and team building.
  11. Must have a valid California Class C driver's License.
  12. Knowledge of mechanics lien law and public/private job rights is strongly preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Walking and moving about on foot often up and down stairs.

  9. Sitting: Sits at desk.  Sits for long periods of time.

ENVIRONMENTAL:          

  1. Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
  2. Temp/Weather: Works in an office environment.
